Description: There are many stories in the Tanach which are difficult to comprehend and even somewhat disturbing in their circumstances. We will examine two of these stories to see what really might have been going on between the lines. The first is the story of Yiftah (Judges chapter 11) who made a vow that if victorious in battle against the Ammonites, he would sacrifice the first creature to come out of his house. Unfortunately, it was his own daughter who walked out. The second one is the story of Naval (First Samuel chapter 25), in which David contrives a situation which could have easily lead to the unwarranted deaths of Naval's shepherds. Join us for a fascinating talk with some unexpected revelations.
